Noquemanon Trail Network
Most folks know these as the Marquette "North" and "South" trails, designed to suit every rider's style and skill level. On the north side, you can follow the Dead River on flowy, intermediate trails with scenic views. On the south side, dive into purpose-built flow trails and techy lines, where you’ll encounter gushing waterfalls and sweeping vistas. With a ton of well-maintained trails and spots to explore, there’s something for everyone in the crew.
Marquette's North Trails offer a mix of single and double-track options for all ages and abilities. For a solid beginner to intermediate adventure, connect your ride through the North Trails to Harlow Lake for the full Marquette experience. NTN South Trails are where you’ll find more of a challenge with varied terrain. The Grom Loop is Ideal for beginners, this 1.3-mile trail has an elevation gain of 123 ft. and a descent of 98 ft. It’s a friendly, minimally technical singletrack that runs past the nearby campground’s sights and sounds. Try the Doctors Trail for a thrilling 0.9-mile ride with a 56 ft. elevation gain and a 322 ft. descent. After climbing Gurly and crossing Marquette Mountain Road, this trail delivers an exhilarating, rough, and fast downhill finish, complete with a small rock slab to roll down. Perfect for those who love speed and technical rides.
Minutes from downtown Big Bay, Powell Township Recreation Area features around five miles of recently built mountain bike trails including the Sweet Pine Trail, a flowy blue with a few features and optional lines, and the Ladysliper (blue), which offers a little more backcountry feels with a challenging rock section and a couple of punchy climbs.
